Church History

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

For this first year, this church has stood as a sentinel pointing men and women, boys and girls to the Heavenly way. In the midst of world turmoil, in the face of strife and war and at times when world ideals are crumbling, New Vision Baptist Church has ever held high the banner of Christ who said "Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

Persecution has not crushed the church. Power has not beaten the church. Time has not abated the church's force. The abuses and treason of enemies have not shaken the church's stability for the church is founded on a Rock.

On first Sunday, March 5, 2006, New Vision Baptist Church was founded under the leadership of Rev Willie Charles Haynes Sr.

New Vision Baptist church has as a God-like, devout, Christian pastor, Rev. Willie C. Haynes Sr., who has preached the gospel so that everyone could hear of Jesus, know of Christ goodness, and see the Lord work in the lives of men.

When founded, the church was without a sanctuary to worship in, so the Lord spoke to the heart of Mrs. Joyce Stewart, manager of Shoney's Banquet room, and she allowed New Vision members to have worship service in the banquet room without compensation for seven weeks. During these seven weeks, Rev Haynes began to coordinate the officers for New Vision:

Chairman Deacon: Deacon Mack Smith; Church Mother: Mother Leslie Corbett; Administration Assistant: Sister Sheryl Eason; Sunday School Superintendent: Sister Teresa Johnson; Sunday School Secretary: Sister Patricia Howard

New Vision carried on with the same ministries Rev Haynes established at Mt. Zion M. B. Church: First Sunday communion, Bible Study on Wednesday night, Men's Ministries on 2nd Sunday Morning, choir rehearsals, preparation for Easter Program, and many more.

Soon after, Rev. Willie C. Haynes went forth with the power of the Holy Spirit seeking a sanctuary for God's church to gather for worship services. Rev. Haynes spent three dedicated weeks seeking and being led by the Holy Spirit until he came across the vacant church for sale located on 301 Smith Street, Vidalia, GA 30474. The New Vision Church, newly founded and rich in faith, purchased the church on April 13, 2006. On third Sunday, April 16, 2006, Easter Sunday, New Vision Baptist Church held their very first worship service at 301 Smith St Vidalia, GA.

Through God's glorious favor, New Vision gain a church marquee, communion and offering trays, musical instruments, chandeliers, new windows and new pulpit furniture, Pastor Study furniture and cordless microphone, kitchen appliances such as: a refrigerator, stove and microwave. Along with the decorations throughout the sanctuary, the professional landscaping and new professionally installed steeple gave New Vision a new look. People near and far sent financial donations. Churches from near and far were praying for New Vision Baptist Church, for Christians knew that the change New Vision experienced was nothing NEW.

Almost all of these new items and labor that were freely given to New Vision is nothing short of a miracle from the Almighty God; for no one but God can touch the heart of men just about all over the Southeast region of this country to move in such a miraculous way. And we are yet growing in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
